Dear Valued Stakeholders,

I am deeply honored to step into the role of President and CEO of the state-owned mining company Murak Rai Timor, E.P., as we navigate the dynamic landscape of the mining industry towards building a sustainable future.

As a newly established state-owned mining company our immediate focus is to strengthen capabilities across the board by ensuring adequate human capital, infrastructure and systems that meet industry standards to support our future investments and provide quality services in mining industry in Timor-Leste.

Going forward, we aim to build diverse mineral exploration portfolio with emphasis on commodities having shorter development timeframe and/or those with highest positive economic and social value. Our immediate target is set on readily accessible opportunities that can land itself fast development within reasonable timeframe including cement production in Baucau, marble production in Manatuto and production of other process minerals such as kaolinite resources from strategic location in Timor-Leste. We will work collaboratively with our local players to provide quality services enhancing their quarry operations whilst building up our capability to provide high value products and services aiming to serve complex mining operations.

Furthermore, in view of the escalating demand for certain types of minerals which are critical in the race to safe our planet from the impact of climate change, our determination to explore, discover and develop these types of minerals will continue to be the focus in coming years.

We are mindful of the importance of responsible mining practices, and we are determined to work with all stakeholders to harness wealth from Timor-Leste’s mineral resources based on the principles of health, safety, environment, and sustainability.

Together we commit to achieve the targets we have set with our vibrant team at Murak Rai Timor, E.P.. We will push the boundaries of what is possible to deliver long-term value for Timor-Leste and communities where we operate.
